The Trade Ally may install the following measures at no cost within in-units and common areas:

Screw-in LED Lighting

Description

LED light bulbs (screw base)

Applicability

  • Light fixtures must be permanent.
  • Existing incandescent lamps must be operational – nonfunctioning lamps are not to be replaced.
  • Existing lamps must be at least 40W incandescent to qualify.

Bulb Eligibility

LED lights must meet the following requirements:

  • Rating: Must be at least 40W incandescent rated to qualify.
  • Certification: ENERGY STAR or Design Lights Consortium.
  • Rated Life: 25,000 hours

 

Faucet Aerators

Description

High efficiency faucet aerator

Applicability

Must replace existing standard kitchen faucet aerator with a flow rate of 2.0 GPM or greater or bathroom faucet aerator with a flow rate of 1.5 GPM or greater in apartments

Faucet Aerator Eligibility

Faucet aerator with flow of 1.5 GPM or less for Kitchen Aerators and 1.2 GPM or less for Bathroom Aerators.

 

Shower Heads

Description

Energy and water saving showerhead

Applicability

Must replace standard showerhead with flow of 2.5 gallons per minute (GPM) or greater in apartments.

Faucet Aerator Eligibility

  •           Showerhead with flow of 2.0 GPM or less at 80 PSI
  •           Must be EPA WaterSense certified

 

The following measures are eligible for instant rebates based upon the Trade Ally's recommendations.

Attic Insulation

Description

Attic insulation addition

Applicability

Apartment complexes with existing electric space cooling. Insulation must be installed between a conditioned and an unconditioned space.

Attic Insulation Eligibility

  • Insulation type may be fiberglass or cellulose
  • Existing air-conditioned spaces must be insulated with an R-Value value of R-20 or less.
  • Must install a minimum R-Value of R-38 of continuous insulation in order to qualify for a rebate. 
  • Plumbing chases and other gaps in the attic flooring must be blocked to prevent insulation from falling into the building.
  • Attic insulation must be installed by an approved Alliance Participant in qualifying apartments.

 

Shade Screen

Description

Solar shade screen addition

Applicability

Apartment complexes with electric space cooling.  Windows must be east, west or south facing with no previous shading (such as from trees or overhangs). Existing window screens that are worn or damaged are not eligible for incentives. 

Shade Screen Eligibility Must have a maximum Solar Heat Gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.25, evaluated at ¼” clear single glazing

 

Smart Thermostat

Description

This measure involves the installation of Wi-Fi enabled programmable thermostats in place of non-programmed thermostats. 

Applicability

Apartment and common area units with existing central air conditioning systems.

Smart Thermostat Eligibility

  • Replacement thermostat must be Honeywell, Nest or Ecobee Wi-Fi Enabled programmable thermostat. (Please contact Program Administrator for current list of approved Thermostats)
  • Replacement of existing Smart Thermostats is not eligible.
  • Must utilize unoccupied periods and temperature setbacks.
  • Only 1 thermostat per supply fan unit.

 

Electronically Commutated Motor

Description

This measure involves the installation of a fan motor that is a high efficiency electronically commutated motor (ECM).

Applicability

Apartment and common area units with existing central air conditioning systems.

High Efficiency Central Fan Motor Eligibility

  • Must replace an existing operational or non-operational fan motor of the same size or smaller size, up to 1 HP in size.
  • New units receiving rebates under the HVAC system replacement measure are not eligible for this rebate.

 

Cooling Control

Description

This measure involves the installation of a device that adjusts the indoor fan run time after the compressor has cycled off to improve the cooling performance of air conditioners.

Applicability

Apartment and common area units with existing central air conditioning systems.

Cooling Control Eligibility

  • Must install a new, approved cooling control device.
  • Must utilize evaporator fan to use cooling from the evaporator coil after the compressor has shut off.
  • Units with a Nest thermostat are ineligible for a rebate.
  • Units that have evaporator fans that cycle with compressor operation are eligible, but units with fans that operate to provide ventilation are ineligible for rebate.

 

VFDs for Pool Pumps

Description

This measure involves the installation of a variable speed pool pump to improve the pool pump performance.

Applicability

Apartment swimming pools with an existing constant or variable speed pool pumps that have been non-operational for more than 2 years.

Cooling Control Eligibility

  • Rebates are not available where variable speed pool pump settings do not meet local commercial code requirements.
  • Variable loading must be utilized at least 8 hours per day at lower speeds.
  • The maximum pump size is 25 HP.

 

Unitary HVAC System Upgrades

Description

This measure involves the installation of new high efficiency central air conditioning systems. Window, room, and air rotation systems are not eligible for the rebate.

Applicability

Apartment and common area units with existing central air conditioning systems.

HVAC Systems Eligibility

  • Window, Room, Multi-Split, and Air-Rotation Air-Cooled Unitary Air Conditioners (AC) and Heat Pumps (HP) are not eligible.
  • Water-Cooled Air Conditioners (AC) and Heat Pumps (HP) must be water- or evaporative-cooled.
  • All units must meet or exceed the AHRI Standard Rating Condition efficiency values as noted in the table below for units 65,000 Btu/hr. and less and use a minimum ozone-depleting refrigerant. Larger units have different efficiency requirements. Rebates will be paid on a tiered structure and will be based on the highest efficiency tier for which the unit qualifies.

 

Multi-Split Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems

Description

This measure involves the installation of new high efficiency, multi-zone systems.

Applicability

Apartment and common area units with existing central air conditioning systems.

HVAC Systems Eligibility

  • Variable refrigerant air conditioner and heat pump systems must be rated at ANSI/AHRI 1230-2010 standard performance conditions. Units not rated under ANSI/AHRI 1230 are not eligible for this program.
  • All units must meet or exceed the AHRI Standard Rating Condition efficiency values as noted in the table below and use a minimum ozone-depleting refrigerant.

  

LED T8/T12 Lamp Replacement

Description

This measure involves the installation of LED replacement lamps for T8 or T12 lamps for interior spaces.

Applicability

  • Light fixtures must be permanent.
  • Existing T8/T12 lamps must be operational – nonfunctioning lamps are not to be replaced.

T8/12 Replacement Eligibility

  • Equipment must be new and installed in a manner that meets or exceeds code regulations.
  • Only LED fixtures and lamps are eligible for rebate.
  • LED fixtures and lamps must be UL-rated, and on one of the following qualified product listings at time of application approval: ENERGY STAR, or Design Lights Consortium (DLC). 
  • Eligibility of Linear LED Tubes:

    • UL Type A – Linear LED tubes (AKA “Plug & Play” tubes) that operate off of existing lamp holders and ballasts – Lamps of this type are eligible for rebate.

    • UL Type B – Internal Driver/Line Voltage Lamp-Style Retrofit Kits (Linear LED tubes with an internal driver that operate off of existing lamp holders but require existing ballasts be bypassed to deliver a line voltage directly to the LED tube) – Lamps of this type are only eligible for rebate if they are “Duel Ended” style lamps, DLC approved, and if DLC product approval screenshot and a properly marked cut sheet are provided.

    • UL Type C – External Driver Lamp-Style Retrofit Kits (Linear LED tubes that operate off of existing lamp holders but require existing ballasts be replaced with an external LED driver which receives line voltage and then delivers low voltage to the existing lamp holders and tube) – Lamps of this type are eligible for rebate. 

  • Retrofits involving de-lamping within a fixture are eligible, provided that the tombstones are removed from the de-lamped spaces AND that the fixture is upgraded to new qualifying lamps.

  • Rebates are intended for one-to-one retrofits of fixtures. Any decommissioned or permanently removed lamps resulting in a reduction in the overall fixture count within a space will be discounted from the demand reduction calculations to determine the rebate.

 

Exterior LED Lighting

Description

This measure involves the installation LED exterior lighting for parking, canopy, wall-mount, and sidewalk lighting.

Applicability

  • Light fixtures must be permanent.
  • Existing lamps must be operational – nonfunctioning lamps are not to be replaced.

Exterior LED Lighting Eligibility

  • Equipment must be new and installed in a manner that meets or exceeds code regulations.
  • Only LED fixtures are eligible for rebate.
  • LED fixtures must be UL-rated, and on one of the following qualified product listings at time of application approval: ENERGY STAR, or the Design Lights Consortium (DLC).
  • Rebates are intended for one-to-one retrofits of fixtures. Any decommissioned or permanently removed fixtures resulting in a reduction in the overall fixture count within a space will be discounted from the demand reduction calculations to determine the rebate.

 

Electric Vehicle Charger

Description

This measure involves the installation Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Applicability

Apartments with available parking spaces.

Exterior LED Lighting Eligibility

  • All EV Charging Stations must be new and at least “Level 2.”
  • Rebates are limited to 12 charging stations per site.

 

Other HVAC equipment that was not listed above may be eligible for a rebate reimbursement from SRP equal to the current applicable rebate levels paid under the SRP Business Solutions Standard Program (See www.savewithsrpbiz.com for information on rebates available via the Standard Business program). Such HVAC equipment must meet the SRP Business Solutions Standard Program measure eligibility requirements and be installed by a Multifamily Solutions Program-approved Alliance Participant to be considered for rebate payment.

Total rebate payments on a project may not exceed 100% of the total project cost. In no instance will the rebate amount issued exceed the reserved rebate amount by more than 120%.

Measures installed by approved Alliance Participants under the SRP Business Solutions Multifamily Solutions Program are not eligible for rebates from SRP under any other available energy efficiency or rebate program.
